While the compact version includes fewer photos than the Comprehensive version, it offers plenty of resources to make the course visual and exciting for students. In addition, students will have access to the Book Companion Website that offers quizzing, interactive maps, interactive timelines, and simulations.

This book is very well written. My class has not even started yet and I have read 3 chapters. The way in which it is written causes the reader to stop and think about the material that is being presented. Since I have had the book, I have had several times when I have actually stopped an thought about the high quality of authorship. I am very glad that my History professor chose this to use as our text.
